Plastic timbers overlap and connect with a
30-inch steel spike (included in the
price of the timber).
First, plastic timbers look great. Second, they're virtually maintenance free. Third, unlike wood, plastic timbers have no splinters. You don't need any expertise or special tools
to do a professional-looking job. They're
also easy to move and
re-install. Plastic timbers help to contain playground surfacing (like
woodchips) in a defined area. Finally, they create a visually-pleasing
border to any area.
Plastic timbers in a 4-foot length and 12 inches high are available in black, green., and other colors. (Non-black timbers are special order items, so please phone us today for more information.)
To fix the plastic timbers in place,
overlap the
ends of two timbers, then
insert the 30-inch spike vertically into the top of the timber and slide
it through until it touches the ground. Then drive
the spike into the ground using a mallet or sledgehammer, and presto
... a durable, attractive border for your play area or garden! (Each 4' timber comes with 1 spike; each 6' timber comes with 2.)

Our plain plastic timbers are made from tough polyethylene. These interior design incorporates ribs, molded in for strength. The plastic timbers are hollow, not solid. They weigh only 9 pounds each. We use these 4 foot long, 12" high black plastic timbers on our own playground projects. Each one comes with a 5 year warranty (and sometimes longer).
